Pfizer’s First Super Bowl Commercial Touts Scientific Discoveries

Pfizer, the company behind Paxlovid and Covid-19 vaccines, offered its first Super Bowl ad on Sunday, a move that comes as the drugmaker is going through a rough patch.

The 60-second spot, “Here’s to Science,” overlays scientific discoveries from throughout history with Queen’s hit song “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

The ad begins in an old-fashioned academic library, with paintings of science pioneers such as Sir Isaac Newton and Archimedes singing along to Queen’s lyrics. It careens through luminaries such as Rosalind Franklin, Albert Einstein and Pfizer founders Charles Pfizer and Charles F. Erhart, singing along to the song.
