Uncovering the Legacy of Dick ‘Night Train’ Lane

Dick “Night Train” Lane played 14 years in the NFL, and the fact that so many of the records he set as cornerback known for ferocious tackles during the 1950’s and 1960’s still stand is a testament to his greatness. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1974. It comes as a surprise to some that early on he also played in baseball’s Negro leagues with a farm team of the great Kansas City Monarchs.
