Born on July 16, 1887 in South Carolina, Shoeless Joe Jackson was an American Major League Baseball player during the early 20th century. Earning his nickname by once wearing stockings, Jackson played for the Chicago White Sox and was a World Series champion in 1917. He died on December 5, 1951 in South Carolina.
