Carl Erskine: A Baseball Legend’s Legacy

The last living star player of the Brooklyn Dodgers’ famed “Boys of Summer” teams is the right-handed hurler, Carl Erskine, born December 13, 1926, in Anderson, Indiana. He threw a pair of no-hitters in his great career, and Carl’s most memorable game might be his 1953 World Series win against the rival New York Yankees when he set a major league record by striking out 14. He also won 20 regular season games that year. A great man, on and off the baseball diamond.
