Ernie Banks, born in Dallas, Texas on January 31, 1931, was an American professional baseball player. He was named the National League’s “Most Valuable Player” for two consecutive seasons and hit more than 40 home runs in five different seasons. Banks retired in 1971 and was elected into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1977. He died on January 23, 2015 at the age of 83.
