Regarded as one of the best players in soccer history, Dutch legend Johan Cruyff (1947-2016) dynamically changed soccer as the most famous proponent of Total Football, a soccer philosophy based on each player playing every position. He was born in Amsterdam and began his career at AFC Ajax, turning them into a powerhouse. In 1973 he was transferred to Barcelona for a record fee. After his playing career, he coached winning sides for Ajax and Barcelona, including coaching Barcelona to four straight La Liga titles. His number 14 jersey is iconic, and his signature move the “Cruyff Turn” is practiced around the world.
